What is Pelvic Floor Therapy?

Peterson Health offers both internal (PT) and external (PT and OT) pelvic floor exams and treatment techniques focused on restoring pelvic floor muscle relaxation, contractility, coordination, and muscle extensibility.

Who is Pelvic Therapy for?

We offer Pelvic Therapy for men and women who are experiencing disruption to the pelvic floor muscles and tissues causing pelvic pain and impaired or loss of bowel and bladder control due to aging, persistent heavy lifting, pregnancy and child birth, surgical intervention, and more.

  • Scar tissue adhesion from perineal tears
  • Dyspareunia (pain during intercourse)
  • Vaginismus (involuntary spasm of the vagina)
