Our award-winning team is comprised of a Board Certified Physician – Dr. James Young, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurse Case Managers, Certified Hospice Aides, Medical Social Workers, Chaplain/Spiritual Counselor, Volunteers, and Bereavement Counselors.

Supporting Our Veterans
Peterson Hospice has initiated Level 5 Partner with We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Level 5 is the highest level WHV partners can attain and includes several new required activities and yearly recertification.
We Honor Veterans empowers end-of-life care partners to meet the unique needs of America’s Veterans and their families. Guidance and resources are focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgment so that veterans can be guided through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.
Cost of Hospice
Peterson Hospice is the only not-for-profit hospice in Kerr County. Through generous donations, Peterson Hospice has never billed a family for residual expenses. Basic hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurances. Options are available for non-funded cases. Please contact the hospice team for details.

Peterson Hospice is the only non-profit Hospice in the Hill Country, and does not turn away anyone because of an inability to pay. Providing this compassionate care at end-of-life beyond the patient’s ability to pay is a direct result of generous donations from loving community and family members.
