Every summer our community loses adults and children to drowning accidents, and our Emergency Department cares for many patients who have had near drowning events. In an effort to prevent these traumatic incidents, Peterson Health’s Trauma team is proud to announce the Save-A-Life Jacket Program: a fundraising campaign to keep our community kids safe in the water this summer.
THE GOAL: Raise funds to provide 200 Life Jackets to the Early Childhood Center in Kerrville
The life jackets will be given to 3 and 4 year old students alongside a Water Safety education day for the children and their parents.
Why did we choose this school? We chose to focus on those in most need. Children ages 1 to 4 are at the highest risk for drowning and the Early Childhood Center provides care for children of families with low income. This is a great starting point, and we look forward to expanding our reach and impact next year!
