Funds Raised Elevate Three Areas of Healthcare
Kerrville, TX – The Peterson Health Foundation has completed its “A Heart for Healing” Capital Campaign, raising over $8.5 million dollars. The amount raised exceeds 100% of the goal.
The capital campaign was announced in the early winter of 2015 to raise funds for imaging equipment, to expand the cardiac catheterization and interventional lab and to construct a new building for Peterson Home Health and Hospice, and to include offices for Peterson Health Foundation.
Capital Campaign Chair John Miller led the campaign launch with members of the Foundation Board, a steering committee and the Development Department staff of Peterson Health. Through dedicated efforts, Peterson Health Foundation reached out to Kerrville area friends, donors, physicians, businesses and community members to secure pledges and support for the campaign.
Pat Murray, President and CEO of Peterson Health reported that the capital campaign quickly received significant gifts from supporters and area foundations, rapidly moving the campaign toward its financial goal ahead of schedule. Says Murray, “We are so very thankful for the response and support from many friends who recognize the value of our locally governed health system.. The extraordinary support is noteworthy in furthering our mission of providing exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered care.”
Critical to the success of the campaign, the following donors made significant contributions in the campaigns earliest stages: The Stevens Foundation; J. David and Amanda Williams; James Avery Craftsman; The J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation; Neil and Gina Griffin; The Hal and Charlie Peterson Foundation and The H-E-B Foundation.
Details on the new Home Health/Hospice building are now being shared with a groundbreaking ceremony planned for late spring. In addition, Peterson Health is moving forward with the purchase of new imaging equipment, to include a nuclear medicine camera and a 3D breast biopsy guidance system. Construction and new equipment for a second cardiac catheterization and interventional lab round out the beneficiaries of the Capital Campaign funds.
