Kerrville, TX – Peterson Health will be hosting their first community 5K walk / run event February 22 to raise awareness about heart disease and heart disease prevention as part of American Heart Month.
“We are excited to engage the community through this event and help bring awareness to heart health. Regular physical activity is one of the best ways to maintain a healthy heart. If this event helps encourage people to maintain a good exercise routine, then it will be a huge success,” said Dr. Ramez Nairooz, Interventional Cardiologist at Peterson Health.
Peterson Health’s advanced Cardiology Clinic and accredited Heart and Vascular Department provide top quality heart care in the Texas Hill Country. The extensive Cardiology program offers access to life-saving care, including Pulmonology, Catheterization Lab, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Vascular Surgery, and Cardiac Wellness. The program typically follows a three-phase approach to heart health starting with intervention, healing with rehabilitation, and creating longevity through wellness.
The Deep in the Heart 5K race will start at 9am at the Trailhead Beer Garden and loop through Kerrville’s scenic River Trail. All ages welcome, registration for adults is $35 and children 12 years old and under are free. Click here to register for the 5K event.
