Kerrville, TX – On Tuesday April 4, 2023, Peterson Health presented Tivy High School with a donation check in the amount of $5,000 to support their newly developed Certified Medical Assistant program. This money will be used to purchase exam tables and equipment to create a mock exam room on the Tivy High School campus.
Peterson Health and Tivy High School have a long partnership in promoting health professions to students. Currently Tivy students utilize Peterson Health facilities for clinical education hours to become Certified Nurses Aides. This new Medical Assistant program will create a much-needed educational track for skillsets required in the physician office environment.
“We would like to thank Sharon Pintsch for her hard work and vision in bringing this program to fruition. She has worked diligently to give students access to the marketable skillsets they will need for successful careers in the Health Professions, and our community will need these folks as Kerrville continues to grow,” said Tim Rye, Peterson Health’s Chief Strategic Development Officer. “We are thrilled to support this program and look forward to employing these young women and men in the future.”
The new Certified Medical Assistant program will be available to Tivy students in the 2023 Fall semester.
