Watch the Amanda and J. David Williams Surgery Center Rise!
Kerrville, TX – Here we “GROW” again. Peterson Health proudly held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Amanda and J. David Williams Surgery Center Monday, December 12. The milestone event was attended by Donors, Board Members, and Peterson staff.
In the Fall of 2019, a strategic vision was cast between the Hospital Board of Directors and the Foundation Board. They envisioned a comprehensive campus of state-of-the-art facilities that would promise exceptional health care for generations to come. One of those visions was a new outpatient surgery center to accommodate the increasing surgical and procedural volumes, as well as world-class physician recruitment.
The Hospital Board of Directors challenged our Foundation Board to raise money to fund the project. As a result, the TODAY. TOMORROW. ALWAYS. Capital Campaign was conceived with a goal of raising $15M. The Foundation exceeded this goal by 33% and raised more than $20M from philanthropists within the Hill Country and throughout Texas. Proof that the community at large believes in this growing healthcare system and the exceptional care it provides for the region.
The Amanda and J. David Williams Surgery Center will serve as the primary outpatient surgery center, and will expand Peterson Health’s current capacity of surgical suites by 25% and procedure rooms by 50%. This sophisticated 3-story facility will house the surgery center on the first floor, with medical office space, a conference room, and rooftop garden on the second floor, and additional medical office space for surgeons on the third floor. The estimated cost of the new surgery center is $38M with the projected completion date of Spring 2024.
Cory Edmondson, President and CEO of Peterson Health, states “This is a monumental day in the life of Peterson Health and the region. We are blessed to have donors who support our passion for health care and our mission of exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered care. This modern facility will serve many generations to come.”
