Below is a list of projects made possible — thanks to the generous support of our donors over the past year. Your support has made a tangible impact, helping us deliver exceptional care to our community. Thank you for making a difference!
Horizon® DXA Bone Density Scan
This powerful tool enhances our ability to care for patients’ bone and overall health. This state-of-the-art technology accurately measures bone density, helping healthcare providers assess fracture risk, diagnose conditions like osteoporosis, and monitor the effectiveness of treatments.
Beyond bone health, the DXA scan provides detailed body composition analysis, including muscle mass and fat distribution, offering a comprehensive picture of overall health.
Intuitive Surgical Endoscopes and Camera for DaVinci® Robot
Our advanced DaVinci ® Robot transforms surgical precision and patient outcomes, but its efficiency depends on having enough endoscopes and cameras to meet demand. These vital tools must be carefully sterilized between each use—a process that takes three hours.
By investing in additional endoscopes and cameras, we can eliminate downtime and ensure that urgent and emergency cases can proceed without delay. This enhancement also increases the number of surgeries that can be performed each day, significantly reducing wait times for patients needing critical procedures.
Transcutaneous CO2 Monitors
This technology delivers continuous, non-invasive monitoring of carbon dioxide levels in the body, allowing for early detection of respiratory complications, minimizing the need for painful blood draws, and enabling our team to make timely adjustments to ventilation settings, especially in critically ill patients or newborns.
Telemedicine Cart
This state-of-the-art tool allows Peterson to provide the most comprehensive access to care for all patients. Through technology and strategic partnerships, patients have live/real-time access to neurologists, psychiatrists and other specialties that would not otherwise be available.
Parks Flo Lab SX2
Ankle Brachial Index, or ABI, is an ultrasound exam using high-frequency sound waves and blood pressure to measure the arterial blood flow pressure difference between your arms and legs and analyze the quality of blood in your ankle arteries.
Spider2 Limb Positioner
The Spider2 Limb Positioner creates adequate traction to complete shoulder instability cases while allowing the surgeon to manipulate the arm instead of requiring an additional scrub tech. Thanks to our incredible donors, two units were approved to improve the patient experience for both inpatient and outpatient shoulder surgeries.
Staff Lockers
New staff lockers were approved for all nursing units to provide better storage of personal belongings while on shift. Peterson is honored to be named as one of the “Best Places to Work” in healthcare by Modern Healthcare magazine 4 years in a row! Thank you to our donors for helping Peterson be such a great place to work by providing our staff with these new lockers!
Nitronox Plus® 5050
Thanks to our generous donors, Nitronox Plus is set to transform childbirth. Your support fuels our mission to empower women during labor. This innovative pain management solution combines nitrous oxide and oxygen for safe and effective relief during labor and delivery, enhancing maternal well-being and ensuring positive birthing experiences.
Portable Vital Sign Machines
With donor funds, two of the three existing machines were replaced. This equipment offers a compact design, user-friendly interface and intuitive functionality, portability, all enhancing patient comfort and convenience. These machines are essential to healthcare teams at Peterson, delivering high-quality care with greater flexibility and responsiveness, improving patient outcomes.
DynaCAD Prostate Software
This Computer-Aided Detection software is used as a second set of eyes by radiologists, improving both confidence and accuracy in image review of breast and prostate exams by populating 3D regions of interest that may require more attention. Without this aid, multiple biopsies would need to be performed and on a random tissue sample. With an earlier detection rate with the DynaCAD, this is the new standard of care for breast and prostate imaging.
nVoq®
This speech recognition software stands as a transformative tool in the realm of healthcare documentation, offering unparalleled benefits in efficiency, accuracy, and workflow optimization. By seamlessly converting spoken words into text in real-time, nVoq streamlines the documentation process, allowing healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care and less on administrative tasks.
SIM NewB®
Thanks to donors like you, Peterson Health is once again “Elevating Health” — this time for our tiniest patients! Donor funds have enabled us to acquire a SIM NewB® baby, an advanced medical simulator that replicates the physiology and responses of a real newborn. This simulator is a vital tool for medical training and education, allowing healthcare professionals to practice various procedures and interventions in a realistic, risk-free environment. It can simulate breathing, crying, and medical emergencies for valuable hands-on training.
Ear Nose and Throat Navigation Equipment
The Acclarent TruDi Navigation system is a medical technology designed to enhance accuracy and precision during sinus surgeries. It utilizes advanced imaging and navigation capabilities to assist surgeons in performing minimally invasive procedures with improved outcomes.
Moses™ Holmium Laser
The Moses Holmium Laser is a cutting-edge medical device used primarily in urological procedures, with improved efficiency and safety compared to traditional methods. It utilizes advanced laser technology to perform precise and minimally invasive procedures. Its innovative features make this a valuable tool in modern urological practice.
The Moses laser ’s versatility makes it a highly valuable addition. While used primarily for urological procedures such as lithotripsy (kidney stones), the Moses laser can also be used in laser enucleation of the prostate.
This technology reduces operating time and allows our physicians and staff to treat more complex cases here at Peterson instead of referring them elsewhere. Reduced operating time means less anesthesia, less risk and a dramatically improved patient experience.
Peterson’s Magnet Journey
The Magnet Recognition Program provides a roadmap to advance nursing excellence, with contented staff at its core. Optimum job satisfaction results in lower nurse attrition and an improved patient experience. To attract and reward the very best in nursing talent, Magnet-recognized organizations embody a collaborative culture, where nurses are valued as integral partners in the patient’s safe passage through their healthcare experiences.
This culture is supported by steadfast investment in nursing education and development, ensuring that nurses are supported in their chosen career path. Interprofessional collaborative practice is nurtured, with a focus on mutual respect, autonomy, and shared values.
The working environment of nurses has a direct effect on the standard of care. When an organization embarks on a journey to Magnet designation, it commits to the highest quality health care. This is not only evident in decreased mortality rates and shorter hospital stays, but in the experience of every patient who walks through a Magnet organization’s doors.
Employee Scholarships
Peterson Health encourages the development of our workforce, which supports the organization’s mission of providing Exceptional, Compassionate, Patient-Centered Care. To aid in achieving this goal, financial assistance is offered to employees seeking tuition assistance via scholarship or tuition reimbursement.
