The Transitional Wellness Program at the Peterson Health Wellness Center transitions patients from formal therapy with Peterson Rehabilitation to exercising independently with the support of a personal trainer.

“As we grow older and reach retirement age it is so easy to slip into a sedentary lifestyle which in turn can speed the aging process. The Transitional Wellness Program, such as that offered by Peterson Health in Kerrville, is the perfect solution to fight the dangers of inactivity. After an illness or injury that has required Physical Therapy, a wellness program helps to build and maintain strength and fitness to combat any decline. At 76 years of age, the wellness program that I am undertaking is helping me to stay active and avoid any potential perils of growing older.” – Martin Burniston, Peterson Transitional Wellness Patient

Work out equipment available includes nustep, recumbent bike, treadmill, elliptical, arm bike, state-of-the-art weight machines, free weights, and more.

Participants must be referred by a therapist and have the ability to exercise independently.

Personal trainers will provide exercise programs, equipment instruction, and answer any exercise-related questions. Trainers will also monitor blood pressure, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels. In addition, oxygen is available to patients as needed.

Application and liability waiver must be submitted prior to first session. Periodic assessments will determine continued participation in the program.
