COMMUNITY ART LENDING PROGRAM CALL FOR ARTISTS

State Recognized Program Celebrates Start of 5th Year

KERRVILLE, TX – Peterson Health celebrates the start of its fifth year of the highly successful Community Art Lending Program. The art program, displaying local and regional artists at Peterson’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Department at the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), has delighted both staff and patients and continues to grow each quarter. Located at 260 Cully Drive, adjacent to the main hospital, artists are invited to lend their works for three months at a time. Artwork is displayed down the main hallway from the reception area toward the rehabilitation gym, which is one of the most busy and frequented hallways in the facility.

This fall, Peterson Health was selected as a Texas Hospital Association Member Showcase, a best practices or great idea award winner, and was recognized at the annual healthcare convention in Austin in January. Other hospitals across the state have inquired about starting a similar art lending program based on the success of Peterson’s program.

The staff is calling for new artists to submit work for display in the new quarter which runs April, May, and June. Artists interested in submitting art for consideration should submit photos of available framed pieces no later than Monday, April 3rd.

Open to all Hill Country artists, including high school and university students, the Peterson Community Art Lending Program assists in the promotion of talented artists and offers the patients receiving care in the unit, along with their supportive families and the staff, the stimulation and energy and inspiration of an artistic environment while in our facility for healing.

If you are a local artist or photographer and would like to participate this year, simply email photos of available pieces to Lisa Winters at lwinters@petersonrmc.com or call (830)258-7628.
